Our stunning bride An sent us a link to her fabulous wedding day photos and we've picked quite a selection! They were all just so amazing! An wore the Judith gown by Augusta Jones with extra button details and additional cap sleeves made in the matching lace. She also complimented the look with a matching Augusta Jones veil.
An wrote to us;
all is well at White Mischief! I must admit I get a little bit nostalgic sometimes...
my wedding photographer captured the day fairly well, so I wanted to share some
highlights with you and the rest of the team:
again for helping me get a dress worthy of the day and venue! Especially to Ashten and Heather.
Our Epic Christmas window display took a few weeks of planning- and now it's finally in place! This year the team took inspiration from the well known Disney adaptation of Sleeping Beauty.
Window one contains three of our beautiful Lou Lou tea length bridal gowns- each representing one of the fairy godmothers (Flora, Fauna and Merryweather). Cleverly decorated with blue, green and pink accessories and highlighted with multi-coloured lighting. And also given the extra fun factor with floating teacups, inspired by the woodland cabin baking scene.
Gwen Stefani shimmies her stuff in this extravagant fringe beaded navy dress- very similar in style to our brand new Eliza Jane Howell dress! If you're keen for a bit of sparkle and a fun and fabulous party dress! Then this is definitely the style!!
Camila McCounaughey wears a very chic and stylish cape over her white Paule Ka dress, an ensemble that features not one, but two bows, plus white Casadei heels to the Dallas Buyers Club premiere in Beverly Hills. The cape seems to be a style that is making a few reappearances on the fashion scene. Jenny Packham have introduced a rather Grecian style one with a beautiful silk chiffon and open sleeve cut with embellishment on the cuff. Elegant and also great for the bride who is conscious of her arms!
Our bride Marie sent some lovely photos of her special day! Marie wore an Eliza Jane Howell gown. Doesn't she look gorgeous!! Hope married life is treating you well!! With love from all the girls at WM x
Our gorgeous bride Katie sent us a lovely card and photos of her special day. Katie wore the Lydia gown by Hollywood Dreams. Katie you look beautiful and we love the photos!!! Thank you!! Wishing you and your new husband a wonderful married life together. With love from all the WM girls xXx
Our bride Alexa sent us photos of her day on 27th October. Thankfully the weather deteriorated after the wedding and not on the day! Alexa wore the Nirvana dress by Augusta Jones- and she looked amazing! We love the lace veil she wore with it too. Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations Alexa! We wish you a happily married life together!

We had a fabulous day despite the
great storm! It arrived on Sunday evening and the whole place lost power that
night and for the next 3 days. I think lucky was an understatement!
I loved the dress and my veil went so well, I was gutted to
take it off! If you ever need anyone to wear any of your gowns I would happily
oblige ; )
Our beautiful bride Parissa married her man in Cyprus in October 2013. Parissa wore the gorgeous London dress by Augusta Jones and because of the great flexibility with Augusta Jone's designs she slightly altered the sweetheart neckline to suit her shape. Congratulations Parissa! We hope you're enjoying married life! xxx
to say many thanks for your help with my dress, it was a winner with friends
and family, so many people have commented on how stunning it was.
certainly worth the hunt! Got lots of amazing photos of it too!

Our gorgeous bride Shelby married her man on October 4th in the Augusta Jones Macy dress. Because of the flexibility of Augusta Jone's designs we were able to length the sleeves to full length on Shelby's dress. We love the whole look she created. Looking fabulous Shelby! Looking forward to seeing some more pics!

We’re frequently asked by brides that they’d like a bridal gown that isn’t
strapless. High necks, boat necks, v-necks and halters are all frequently
mentioned in the initial consultation we hold with our brides when they are
starting the search for their gown.
·What colour schemes do you recommend for 2014?
Pastel shades are bang on trend for the Spring/Summer wedding of 2014. Duckegg
blue, sage green and soft rose colour palettes are proving popular already. A
lot of brides are trying to keep a mixed but complimentary colour palette, and
that’s why a pastel colour range works particularly well together.
··What would be your best piece of advice for
Don’t endlessly trawl the internet for your dream wedding gown. Seeing dresses
in person is completely different to how you see them on a flat screen. Often a
bride will come to us with an idea of the gown she’d like from having browsed
the internet, only to find when she tried that style it didn’t work at all, and
actually ended up finding a dream gown that was completely unexpected! As much
as we suggest being open-minded however, most brides do tend to have a good
idea of what will suit them. Your dress should be a true reflection of your
style more than your shape. Remember that your new husband wants to see his new
wife as an impeccably glamorous version of herself, not as a stranger walking
down the aisle! Don’t visit a bridal shop that isoutof
your budget. At White Mischief, our designer gownsrange from £1300 to £3000. The last thing you
want to do is fall in love with a designer gown that you haven’t budgeted for.
Don’t start shopping for a sale sample gown either if you haven’t tried on any
dresses! You can’t get a good idea of current trends and up to date styles if
you start with old season sample gowns that are past their best! If you know
exactly what you want- then you can hit the sales!
Has your jaw hit the floor once you found out the cost of your dream
dress? Well, if they’re any of the top-end designers that we have in store
you’re paying for what you get. High craftsmanship and extreme attention to
detail and design. Plus you’ll feel just as amazing wearing the dressas well as looking great on the outside.Silk fabrics are naturally breathable and
light and make a much more comfortable dress to wear all day long compared to a
synthetic gown. Plus with many of our designers, such as Augusta Jones, you
have the flexibility to adapt the design exactly to your taste achieving a
unique look that won’t blow the budget like a couture made to measure gown
·How long before her wedding should a bride
start to look for a dress?
Most of the designers that White Mischief stock have delivery times of 12-14
weeks. On top of this you will need to allow time for alterations to be
undertaken on the gown to achieve the perfect fit! We usually suggest 4-6 weeks
for alterations. The ideal time frame for ordering your gown would be 6 months
prior to your wedding date. But it can be done in a shorter time period but
bear in mind you may need to pay rush cut fees to speed up the making process
of your gown.
·What styles of dress
suit different body-shapes?
Shopping for your bridal gown is more about shopping for a gown that
suits your style. There are general guidelines for what various body shapes
suit. But let’s face it, not every bride has the same figure and bone structure
so each dress looks different! Some curvaceous women may wish to flaunt their
curves in asassy and tight figure
hugging fishtail whilst others prefer to wear something that flows and drapes
and is somewhat more modest. Each style looking equally as beautiful and
flattering because it suits the person that is wearing it. What may work for
one person, may not work for another! We also ask for more thorough details
about your venue as well as the overall style and theme of your wedding.
Outdoor weddings and marquees for example may be more suited to dresses with
less train and narrower skirts. Whereas a grand stately home with marble floor
and grand staircasejust shouts for a large
ball gown skirt and train.
·How long before the wedding should a bride start
looking for her dress?
White Mischief have carefully selected top-end designers that have fairly
prompt deliveries. On average, most of the gowns take 12-14weeks for delivery.
But on top of this you need to allow time for alterations. We order your dress
based on your measurements according to the designers size chart. When your
lovely new gown arrives in store it will therefore be a standard size eg, 10,
12, 14, 16 etc. You will then need it altered by one of the independent
seamstresses that we have in store. Thus, achieving the perfectly fitting
wedding gown! You should take note that as our seamstresses work independently
they charge separately depending on the amount of work that is required but we
can give you a clearer idea of cost at the time of your appointment and when
choosing your gown. Generally speaking, you should aim to order your dress
about 6 months prior to your wedding.
·"I want to
lose weight before deciding on my dress, how do i go about this with the
With designers such as Augusta Jones we are fortunate enough to secure
the order for your wedding gown by placing the order with a size to be advised.
And we can give them your measurements closer to the date of the wedding. A lot
of brides fluctuate during the course of the year, even more so when planning a
wedding! And you can have the final fittings done on your dress in the last
couple of weeks running up to your wedding so it really will be the perfect fit
for your special day!
·Are there any
hidden extras in the cost of choosing a bridal gown? No, the only
additional cost on top of the dress price is the money you will pay for your
individually tailored alterations by our independent seamstresses. And we can
give you an approximate price of the alterations at your appointment.
to bring a few friends and family members to my appointment. Is this
okay?" Girls love
shopping with friends and it's great to have other opinions. But you need to
remember that each bride has her own ideas and unique style for her wedding day
and what she intends on wearing. Bringing too many of your friends may result
in conflicting ideas and opinions and confusion. Sometimes friends and family
will give you the best advice and other times they may just confuse you! It's a
tough skill to be able to pick out dresses that will suit another person.
Naturally, most women will be attracted to items which will suit their individual
taste- we just can't help it! Just be sure that whoever you bring, you value
their opinion 100%. Just remember that it is your big day, and you should wear
what makes you feel special.
·How do I know
which dress shape will suit me? If you haven't tried
on any gowns yet you may need to try a few styles to determine which you feel
most confident in. A wedding dress is very different to any item of clothing
you may have ever worn, but that doesn't mean it wont reflect your personal
style and taste. At the end of the day, your new husband-to-be is going to want
to see you walking down the aisle and not some stranger! Your bridal consultant
will be able to recommend a few key shapes to try to establish which look you
feel better in.
·What sizes are your sample dresses?
Our sample sizes, as
recommended by the designers are usually 10s, 12s and 14s.
·When do you have your end of
We generally have two
sales a year. Our winter sale commences anytime between November and January,
as our new collections will be arriving around this period. Our Summer sale
takes place anytime between June and August. We occasionally have a ‘Mega sale day’
where we heavily discount older samples. But we only recommend coming to this
if you have tried on wedding dresses before and know the sort of thing that you
might be looking for! If you want a relaxed environment and a personal
appointment we do not recommend
coming to one of these days.
·How much do I have to pay upfront
for my bridal gown?
To place an order for a new bridal gown we require a 50% deposit.
The remaining 50% can be paid on arrival of your gown in store. We do however,
offer an interest free monthly payment plan so you can split the cost of your
wedding gown over the upcoming months to help ease the burden of your cash
flow! In this instance you would most likely pay a 20% deposit followed by
several monthly instalments.
·When do your new collections
We tend to receive our new collections twice yearly.
September/October time and also January-March. Our Main collections arrive In
September and October. And a few additional gowns arrive in the new year.
·“My wedding is in 2 years + time,
can I make an appointment?”
As with high street
shopping- bridal styles and fashions change regularly. Even your wedding plans
can change over the course of 2 years. And even if you did find a wedding dress
this early- You’ve given yourself plenty of time to fall out of love with it.
Most dresses only require a 3 to 4 month delivery period, and alterations will
only require 6-8weeks So there really isn’t much need to look any earlier than
a year before your wedding. First thing is first get your reception and
marriage venue sorted. Where you are getting married will have a big influence
on the style of dress you will have. Consider a theme and style to your wedding
too. This may help to narrow down wedding dress styles.
·“Where should I store my wedding
gown when it arrives?”
We have a storage area where we can store your bridal gown once it’s
arrived in store. We charge £30 to store your wedding gown, but you are more
than welcome to collect the dress and bring it back for your fittings.

the moment I stepped into White Mischief for my first appointment I knew that
this would be the place I would find 'the one'. I had a vague idea of what I
was looking for but with so many stunning dresses to chose from I didn't know
where to start. After trying on a beautiful range of dresses I finally whittled
it down to 3 which I really liked but were not quite hitting the mark. This is
when the White Mischief staff really came into their own giving me all the
options and advice for customising my preferred style dress with the gorgeous
lace from another dress and silk colour from another to compliment my fair
skin... I was over the moon with the final dress it was perfect in every way
and made me feel gorgeous all day long.
you so much to everyone at White Mischief for helping me find my
dream dress and making my special day that little bit more perfect!"
Lily Collins opts for a bridal style in this lace Houghton gown featuring a sexy open back. A look that is reminiscent of one of our fabulous new designer gowns by Lusan Mandongus. A perfect wedding dress stlye to show off curves and keep a timeless style. This look suits an up-hair do. The sheer lace sleeves and high neck won’t keep you particularly warm, but it would certainly be suitable for a lavish winter wedding.
Jennifer Aniston keeps to her simple and seductive style in this black fit-and-flare Alexander McQueen mini topped with a leather corset belt and gorgeous side swept waves.
We love the boxy shoulder design combined with the flared skirt. It really draws the eye in at the waist and creates an ultra gorgeous hourglass figure. The modern style is a classic feature in the Jesus Peiro collection as seen here on our 4001 gown. Often a favourite with brides that don’t want anything too OTT, too full in the skirt or heavily detailed. The design is all in the cut and shape of the Jesus collection that we have in store.

Gemma wore a very special dress for her big day, designed especially for herself, by herself!
Gemma came to White Mischief looking for her perfect gown, but couldn't quite find it. She loved Mandy by Augusta Jones, but was in love with the keyhole back look. Ashten endeavoured to help her; pinning straps and bits of satin and lace all over the dress and from these options of change available from Augusta Jones, she found her perfect dress.
When Caelia arrived at White Mischief, she knew she wanted a dress
that would make her feel like a princess. She tried on a few big 'princess-y'
dresses, only to feel over the top and silly. They kept making her look wider
and shorter. Not showing off her best bits in the slightest.
Caelia has a lovely hour-glass shape and so her consultant suggested she
tried Augusta Jones' 'Judith', as it has a built in corset that comes down quite
low so that it would show off her whole waist rather than cutting her in half
like the other dresses did. It had that little touch of sparkle and lace she
liked, but wasn't truly sure if she would like lace all over. As soon as
Caelia put on the dress, even before it was done up, she knew it was the one "I
love it! This is the one!"
Caelia personalised her gown slightly by having the underskirt made as an A
line, as it comes with a fishtail underskirt and A line lace skirt as standard.
This fattered her shape a lot more and gave her the fullness she desired. She
also opted for a more defined sweetheart neckline, as this suited her a great
deal more than dipped.
order to compliment her gown, Caelia chose our full length, soft English tulle
veil with beaded edge along with blusher for that traditional look. The beaded
edge caught the light beautifully on her wedding day and the full length of the
veil gave real impact when she walked down the aisle.
When a bride shops for her dress for the first time, it is one of the most
exciting times of her life. Seeing herself in a beautiful dress can be somewhat
overwhelming and daunting too. With the wide choice available it is easy to
neglect the detail on the back of the dress. The back of a dress doesn't
usually seem very important at first glance, but for about an hour of your big
day, it is the one thing about your dress that will have most eyes upon
There is no need to go completely OTT on conflicting details for your
dress by adding sparkle, lace, frills, bows and ribbons! Just a touch is enough
to really finish off your look and add that wow factor. If you prefer a
more simple design for the back of your dress, the option to change the
construction of your dress with Augusta Jones will give you all the flexibility
you need to create your dream gown. Whether you prefer straps or strapless, a
lace back or keyhole back, a small V back or a deep plunging V back you really
only need to focus on one idea. We have endless options for creating the ideal
back that works for you. Book an appointment now- 01273 495566 and see a wide range of options available to you!

Naomi took a curious path to her career as a dress designer. She read physics
at Durham and worked as an IT consultant and merchandiser before finding her
true calling. Fabric has always been her first love - bridal wear allows an
indulgence into the most luxurious silks, laces and embellishments. She creates
dresses which feel fabulous to wear as well as making you look amazing.
Since the launch of her first bridal collection in 2008, the brand has grown
into a dedicated team working from the West Dulwich studio where all the gowns
Halle Berry has been snapped in her wedding dress! As of yet, no offical photographs have been released but we had a little sneaky look at the photo of her caught on her way to her wedding ceremony.
For her third marriage, marrying Olivier Martinez, the Oscar winner, 46, went for an intimate ceremony in
France, at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery in early July. Even with a baby bump, Halle would have looked drop dead gorgeous in her designer dress - suspected to be from Jenny
Packham's 2013 collection.
And we can't say we're too surprised. Jenny Packham's designs are perfect for informal weddings and pregnant brides alike! So it was the perfect choice!
The dress Halle opted for is typically Berry style, showing off her glowing skin
with a low-cut V-neck neckline and beaded detailing at the waistline and
shoulders. It's one of the larger dresses in Jenny Packham's collection with billowing skirt
layers for the occasion.
We're super excited to receive our new collection from Jenny Packham in October time this year. If you like the top and embellishment on this dress, you'll love some of the new collection! Watch this space!!
Cat Deely was a nothing short of a glamorous gold lacquered beauty in June this year when she attended the TV critics choice. We love the peplum and curve defining beadwork. It's very reminiscent of our Lara Hannah dresses!
Our Beautiful Bride Carla married Dave on May 25th 2013. Carla wore the Amelia dress by Lea Ann Belter, and it really was the perfect dress on Carla- so perfect in fact- that she even looks the spitting image of the model Lea Ann Belter used for their official photography. Although we think Carla knocks the socks off their model!!
Carla wrote to us and shared a few wonderful photos from her special day. We'll miss seeing you in store. Congratulations to you both!! Love from the WM girls. xxx
Our beautiful bride Chelsea had a wonderful summery wedding day in June. Chelsea wore the Joolz dress by Augusta Jones. The perfect dress for her petite little frame and in the beautiful English country surroundings. Congratulations Chelsea! Looking amazing!!
Chelsea is also a wedding photographer- if any brides out there would like a down to earth, friendly and experienced photographer- Chelsea is your go-to-girl! Find out more at

I have attached some photos for you of me in my gorgeous dress!
We've taken inspiration from a rather delectable fig colour palette. Lots of juicy purple floral arrangements mixed with shabby chic and rustic centrepieces and furnishings. For a vintage style, stick with natural wood and pastel purples. Or for a slightly regal, modern theme, add subtle hints of antique gold and cream.
Elizabeth Taylor's first wedding dress has just sold for a whopping £120,000 at auction, by a mystery telephone bidder. The star was just 18 when she wore the dress, marrying Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton Jnr in 1950. The dress, designed by Helen Rose, required the specialised craft of 15 people and over 3 months to make!
The waist measurement was initially 20inches!! But has now been let out to 22inches.
Our beautiful bride Anna wore the
Augusta Jones gown, Lois, on her wedding day. Anna wrote to us;

last minute alterations!). We had an amazing wedding down in NZ, and I
loved my dress.

Well we don't want the Groom to steal the show, but we definitely want him to
look scrummy walking down the ailse, knowing that he's all yours for the rest of
your married lives together.
A groom traditionally won't spend anywhere near as much time on his look as the
Bride will. But that's not to say they don't care about their look. Most men
surprise themselves with the wide choice of outfits and suits available. And
before you know it, a groom who claimed they'd wear whatever, soon becomes very
picky and believes every single element of the wedding should coordinate to his
Our trip to the East has been wonderfully fulfilling. We have seen so much and have learned a great deal. The way in which Augusta Jones produces their wedding gowns is a delicate yet in-depth task and they were kind enough to take us on the journey of bringing to life a bride's special dress, Tivoli.
On arriving at Augusta Jones HQ, we were met with glorious 3D letters of which spelt out the brands name in strong, bold, lettering. Reflecting the brand so clearly, we certainly knew we had arrived. On entering the building we came across many awards and fashion editorials from the early days. Augusta Jones is still quite a young brand, but it has stood solid ground throughout it's life time thus far. It was amazing to see the transition from early designs, before White Mischief even stocked them, to now and how their editorial styling has evolved into something rather high fashion!

Lady Gaga comes out of hiding to reveal
herself in a graceful rosewater coloured twobirds bridesmaid gown at a best
friend's wedding. This soft look is a shy away from her ususal stage dramatics.
This just proves what a lovely lady she truly is. Listen up bridesmaids- never
ever outshine the bride! Having said that, these twobirds do look
It is a debate that has been going on for some time now, and there still isn’t really an answer to it. Some women want to embrace themselves by showing off what they’ve got, while others tend to shy away as they don’t want to offend anyone. At the end of the day, it’s your special day, although you may still wish to seek an opinion on the matter. So, let us take a look at the good and the bad and see which side you sway.
Lots Of Skin There are various reasons why women like to show off their skin, especially when it comes to their wedding day. One reason is that it makes them feel empowered in a way that can’t be described, and that only another woman could understand. It makes them feel like they are not being limited, and gives them a sense of freedom and justice. Another reason for doing this is if the weather is nice. You don’t want to be all covered up in the sun as it can get pretty hot and sweaty pretty quickly. You want to feel the breeze on the small hairs of your arms and feel more at one with the outside world. The downside? Not everyone shares this view, including some women. There is a stereotype that women who wear less have less inhibitions and control. This couldn’t be less true. In fact, there are some women out there that have degrees but still go out and party like a hooligan. If you do have a very traditional family or relatives with extremely strong views on such things it may be worth trying to find a compromise that suits you both.
We're heading to the Far East to visit our favourite designer Augusta Jones tomorrow in Hong Kong. Here at White Mischief we offer the more adventurous brides the unique opportunity to design their own gown in association with the designs offered by Augusta Jones.
Once the design team in Hong Kong have put together a dream dress for a White Mischief Bridal they will often add it to their collection for the following year. They like to think of us as their eyes and ears of the needs of British brides. We have now been invited down to Hong Kong to see the process through from start to finish. The visit will include working with the design team to create the patterns for the gowns, mock up a trial dress and then take it to the factory in Hanzhou Province, China to see the process of cutting, making and beading the gown for one of our lucky brides.
We've announced our SUMMER SALE! WAHOOO! From the 6th July you'll have your chance to bag a bargain! Today we're sharing some of the Augusta Jones sample gowns that will be entering the sale. There will be a few more hidden gems that will be in store during the sale. So for the best choice- BOOK AN APPOINTMENT AND VISIT US. 01273 495566

Increasingly bridal hairstyle trends have
been including the use of more natural floral garlands and pins.
This look is great for the bride that has
a boho or
vintage garden party style wedding. There is something very feminine and
whimsical about having natural flowers in your hair. It diverts most
of your guest's attention onto the dress and the overall feel and
look of the outfit. Sometimes keeping the hair, makeup and accessories low
key keeps the look cleaner and more timeless.
Floral garlands might be reminiscent of
the 70's Boho
wedding. But it couldn't be more fashionable again right now! Bridal trends
will always circulate back around eventually. And with dreamy images like these
to treasure- we think you won't regret going for it!
This week's moodboard is an oriental theme. A zesty colour palette of vibrant rosey pinks, citrus oranges and softened mint greens teams well to create a fun, stylish and contemporary wedding theme.
Orchids and Lilies are the perfect oriental
flowers for this theme. Orchids can give a very modern, contemporary look. Best
complimented by a fabulous Jesus Peiro gown. Their structured modern gowns are
chic and exotic.
"Wearing a hat is like having a baby or a puppy. Everyone stops to
coo and talk about it."
Most people centre their hat around what they are wearing. But ever thought
about basing what you wear around your hat?
A hat can liven any outfit into a contemporary masterpiece. It's not everyday
we wear a hat on our heads that may look as extravagant as these pictured here.
So its no wonder that most people think they look silly in hats or have no idea
what suits them when shopping for one. But have no fear- Look at
stars such as Lady Gaga who is often pictured wearing elaborate hats (albeit
often quite OTT). They give a very couture finish to a classic outfit. Plus
there is something so fun about wearing a foreign object on your head.
ladies. Colour is IN. Don't think you have to match everything you wear.
CONTRAST! This Summer and Autumn we're seeing a lot more green and pink
colour-ways. Or try Nude and Purple for a less bold look. On the
other hand Cobalt blue and pillar-box red even work a treat when joined
together with a silver or platinum.
You can pick out elements of colour in your accessories through your hat or
fascinator. If you want to highlight a colour you can add a flash of
colour through feathers in your headwear and match it to your shoes or bag. At
White Mischief we recommend a shoe and bag dyeing company in store. So you can
get the exact colour you need without having to endlessly shop around with
swatches of fabric and Dulux colour pads!

"If you are wearing a dandyish look
you can wear a hat to go with that, if you are wearing something soft in the
country you can wear something tweedy, if it is very urban or Eighties-style
you can wear something to suit that too.”
Most brides automatically think of having a tiara or a veil for their big
day, and while that does look gorgeous nothing is quite as striking and so
unexpected as a classy hat. French Haute couture ringing in anyones
Tiaras will undoubtedly take a back seat at some point. We think the hat will
have a deserved comeback. Will you take the plunge?

BOOK YOUR FLORIST By all means bring the boy along, just don't talk about your dress and bouquet in front of him. One of our favourite florists and events experts is Amaryllis Events. Clare is incredibly talented and her decorations always pack a punch!

CONFIRM THE MENU Poor you - tasting all those canapes and choosing your favourites is really hard work. Our advice? Choose five or six delicious nibbles rather than 10 so-so options.

ADDRESS YOUR ENVELOPES It doesn't get any more real than putting those invites in the post box.
BREAK IN YOUR DANCING SHOES No time for blisters on your big day, so do a few laps around the living room in your new heels beforehand. We love all shoes by Rachel Simpson! They are so comfortable and go with so many of our dresses.

DRAW UP A RUNNING ORDER Distribute this to your suppliers so everyone's on the same page, and reconfirm bookings the week before.
MAKE IT LEGAL Destination-wedding legalities (from 40-day residency requirements in France to pitch-up-and-pledge ease in Vegas) can very as widely as the languages spoken on arrival, while rules in the UK depend on what type of ceremony you're having. For church of England vows, for instance, you'll need the banns read in both the parish where you live and the one where you're getting married for three Sundays during the three months before the wedding.

Every bride stresses about planning the perfect day. We rarely meet a bride that isn't losing her hair just a little. teeny, tiny bit. So you are not alone! The girls at White Mischief Bridal are always there for moral support or a shoulder to cry on, god forbid! And we always try to give as good advice as we can to our gorgeous brides.
So we thought we would help you out by getting you organised!
SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS Get ready to drink a lot of champagne as you spread the word to family and friends. It's also a good time to pick up a wedding file where you can store all the inspiration you gather - from our blog! - and practical bits like brochures and contacts. Start thinking about putting together a wedding blog, so you can share your wedding journey with your friends and family. Maybe set up a vlog [video blog] a few of our brides have done this and it's such a fun way to really see what goes on behind the scenes!
CHOOSE YOUR BRIDAL PARTY The sooner you ask, the sooner your best girls and Maid of Honor can start celebrating and helping with those key decisions, like which dress to by from White Mischief! Cute cards or handwritten notes is a lovely way to ask those special people to be the special people on your special day.
NAME THE DAY Each season, there is always potential for decorations and themes, though keep in mind, prices will be higher in the summer months as it is peak wedding season! Marriages can take place any day of the week and recent changes to the law mean you can marry at any time - as long as your registrar agrees.
TALK NUMBERS That's guests and £££s. Suppliers will want to know the size of your guest list and budget from the get-go, so think through with your partner early on.
BOOK THE VENUE AND CELEBRANT Once you have got the place and the person to pronounce you Mr & MRs, it's easy to start slotting the other essentials into place, like catering and drinks - and furniture and crockery hire if needed - plus all the pretty little things to top your tables.
RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH Start with suppliers whos diaries tend to fill up early (great photographers and videographers, the best bands and DJs). It's also time to book a wedding planner if you're having one and explore wedding insurance.
HIT THE BOUTIQUES Ah, the really fun part! If you can, limit your posse to your mum and Maid of Honor or another best friend, to avoid advice overload. You can always take someone for a second opinion later. When shopping for your dress at White Mischief bridal, we revel in bringing out your own, individual creativity.
Many thanks to You & Your Wedding for blog inspiration.
In anticipation for the arrival of our new Augusta Jones dresses at White Mischief Bridal, we thought it would be nice to help you get to know the Augusta Jones designers a little better. Augusta Jones is probably our favourite designer in store. Their gowns are affordable, they flatter the female form and you can personalise any dress! What more could a girl ask for?
Augusta Jones presents a fresh and contemporary approach to stylish wedding gowns. The concept behind the label is beautifully tailored gown with lean, clean lines. With an unusually wide range of embroideries and delicate beadwork to choose from there is no shortage of ideas for the bride.
Liam is my brother's best friend. We have known each other since 2004 but were with other people until 2008... When both single, we both confided in Jon (my brother) that we had always quite liked one another. He was delighted and organised a get together. We spent Christmas together and fell for each other on New Year's Eve 2008... The rest is history.
Our life together so far has been wonderful! We moved in together after dating for just 6 months and have hardly spent time apart since. We are very lucky to have seen a lot of the world together and have spent a few glorious weeks in my family home in Tuscany every summer since getting together. We have been doing our house up in Shoreham by Sea for just over a year (which has been stressful at times, especially over the wedding) and are now trying to rush to get it ready for September when a new addition will be arriving (the girls did warn me that White Mischief brides are fertile!)
all that will be going on with your wedding, table decorations are probably far
from your mind and bottom on the list of priorities, but they shouldn't be.
They may not seem important but they are crucial to the overall look and theme
of your wedding and guests will appreciate and admire the extra bit of effort.
are lots of different things you can do with your tables, traditionally all
tables will have a white or cream table cloth covering them but you do not have
to do this if you feel it doesn't suit your wedding theme. You need to be aware
of the size and shape of your table and how many guests you will be able to fit
around it, think about the size of your venue and leave plenty of room for
people to move around from table to table. You also need to bare in mind how
much room you will need spare on the table if your guests will be eating. If
you are using gorgeous antique wooden tables then there is no specific need for
a table cloth, but you will need place mats so that plates and glasses don't go
you have decided on the first layer and how many guests will be sitting at each
table, you need to start thinking about a centre piece. A centre piece can come
in the form of flowers, a bowl of sweets and treats/fruit, a little sculpture
or candles. It is completely up to you what you have, if you wanted you could
have a mixture of all of these things, but be sure not to make it too 'busy',
the more detail you have the more time it will take to set them all up.
you decide on flowers then you need to think about whether you want to go for
real freshly cut flowers or fake flowers. Fake flowers are not as pretty but
are more cost effective and can be bought further in advance. Bowls of sweets
or fruit give the chance for guests to nibble and again can be bought in
advance. Sculptures and bowls of items are an extremely popular trend within
centre pieces, it gives your wedding a unique twist and can be more personal to
the guests on the table. Candles you do need to be careful with, not having lit
candles is not exactly too impressive but if the candles are to be lit you need
to make sure with your venue that it is okay to do as it is a fire hazard.
you do not have the time or the money, some wedding venues will actually set all of that up
for you on request. If they do not then you could always consider hiring a
professional or ask a close friend or family member to do all the leg work for
you. Don't let your table decorations be out of sight and mind, embrace them
and make them your own.
Jenny Packham has always been one of our favorite designers at White Mischief Bridal and we can never resist a shopping trip up to London whenever she launches her next collection! So resist we did not and we bought about 10 from the new collection.. We probably went a tad over board, but it's like a magpie's heaven in Jenny Packham's store! We are the magpies and the dresses are our jewels. We are completely head of heels for the new designs and to celebrate Jenny's incredible talents in design, we thought we would tell you a bit more about her! An ode to JP..
2013 celebrates Jenny Packham’s 25th Anniversary. One of the UK’s most successful and independent fashion brands with global recognition, Jenny Packham has become the design house of choice when it comes to evening dressing and bridal wear.
Our favorite designer Augusta Jones came to us at the beginning of the year to help them put together their next campaign for their 2014 collection. We worked with them to find a location, a photographer and to find some beautiful girls that would represent their brand perfectly. We searched long and hard and eventually found two gems, Megan and Sai. We are so proud to say that we, at White Mischief discovered the girls and have now given them the opportunity to work with Augusta Jones from now on as models.
The shoot was a huge success! Megan and Sai are not "professional" models and are not signed to any agencies. Megan has done some work previously with Augusta Jones, but this was the first time Sai had ever been shot for a high fashion campaign. It just goes to show, you don't have to know how to pose to produce beautiful photos, you just have to be natural.

Excitement is building for the launch of the latest Naomi Neoh collection at White Mischiefin the next couple of weeks! Naomi's designs are perfect for our brides here at White Mischief; soft and dreamy with a hint of city-chic. We are in love with floaty organza skirts and intricate lace tops at present.

1. Pastel perfection
"Pretty pastels are going to be big news for S/S 13. Soft metallic silver is also key which is great news as it’s an easy-to-wear transitional colour that effortlessly takes you from day to evening."
2. Opposites attract
"For MOB’s who want to make a bold fashion statement, pairing contrasting colours like rich navy and crisp ivory is making a chic comeback next season and there’s going to be a wide range of vivid abstract designs if you like prints."

We've got fun and creative with a moodboard on sunny St George's day. We've picked a red and white 'proper' English style wedding! We've mixed up a 50s theme with afternoon tea, a countryside outdoor wedding, vintage style flowers and loud wedding stationery for an eclectic mix of all things great and English!
We chose our fabulous LouLou 50's inspired wedding gown. And what's a beautiful bride without her prince charming on the day? Pictured here in a rather untraditional suit. (Armoury not required-although does add to the historic English theme!)
'Hatinators' or a mix between a fascinator and a hat, are becoming more and more popular for the Bride, bridal party, or wedding party guests. Here is a new one that we received the other day that we took a quick snapshot of. It's so cute and looks amazing with our modern and tailored Jesus Peiro dresses, or teamed with a 50's inspired short LouLou gown.
"Wearing a hat versus not wearing a hat is the difference between looking
adequate and looking your best."
"We just know inside that we're queens. And these are the crowns we wear."
Sian is a new addition to White Mischief, and as yet, she hasn't been released by Augusta Jones yet. But we're lucky enough to have her until she's released at the White Gallery in May. Here she is looking amazing in the window display teamed with one of our pretty belts in store. This boat neck style lace neckline is sooooo gorgeous! We loveee!
Our Bride Rebecca has sent us a few beautiful shots of her wedding day. Rebecca married her dream man on Saturday 13th April in a custom designed Beverly Lister gown. Rebecca you and your man look absolutely stunning- what a lovely couple you make- congratulations! xXx
Our beautiful Augusta Jones Elle dress features in this week's mischief moodboard. Spring looks as if it has finally sprung so we thought an English countryside wedding with garden flowers such as buttercups, daisies and daffodils worked a treat. We chose a buttercup yellow, sage green and creamy taupes to compliment the vintage old english style theme.
Augusta Jones Elle is one of our favourite dresses, in a beautiful ivory corded lace with a feminine fitted shape and elegant v neckline with sheer lace sleeves. A sophisticated timeless gown that suits this classic theme.

Saturday 6th April was a jubilant day for the White Mischief team celebrating our 8th birthday since opening! And it looked as if spring had finally sprung as the sun was (at last!) taking a peep out of the clouds in full support of our happy day.
For this fun filled event we had the full collection from VWDC by Charlie Brear in the shop along with a representative on hand who assisted all the brides with all the know-how of customising the various looks from their collection.
It is the eve of our birthday celebrations and we cannot wait to kick start our VWDC by Charlie Brear designer day! Here is a little sneak peak of what's to come for our lovely brides tomorrow.
VWDC by Charlie Brear is our favourite vintage wedding dress collection in store and we pride ourselves on being the only stockist of them in the Brighton area. Rebecca and Michael met at a wedding. Rebecca was a friend of the Bride and Michael was a friend of the Groom. It was a great wedding! If it wasn't for Leigh and Billy they would never have met, but it was a little cupid called Tash, who pushed Rebecca in Michael's direction. A few days later Michael had got hold of her number and it all went from there. Since then their life together has been very happy, relaxed and action packed all summed up by our honeymoon to South America. We're a good team and enjoy the same things in life.
Michael proposed during a walk in the countryside at the top of Box Hill in Surrey. As soon as he got down on one-knee tears welled up in my eyes and I was lost for words. I wasn't expecting it at all which was brilliant. He picked the perfect ring. In fact I don't think I could have chosen better; A beautiful sparkling diamond - not too overstated, just perfect.

I grew up in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, and Jamie grew up in Whitstable, Kent. We met at Jamie's older sister's leaving party! I was living in Cardiff and was friends with Rachel, Jamie's older sister. Rachel was planning on emigrating to Australia with her family, and she had mentioned to me a few times that me and her brother would be a really good match. I didn't even know she had a brother and had never met him and just assumed she was trying to match-make us as we were both single. Plus as he lived in Brighton and I lived in Cardiff, and I had already had a couple of long-distance relationships, and didn't really want another one, I didn't think anymore of it, until she showed me a photo of Jamie, and I thought ooo he's quite nice! So, luckily for me, Jamie decided to attend Rachel's leaving party in Cardiff, and we met that night and completely hit it off and the rest is history! Jamie didn't know anything of Rachel's matchmaking efforts by the way, until the day after the party!
We started our relationship as a long-distance relationship, with me living in Cardiff and Jamie living in Brighton. We saw each other as often as we could, every other weekend if possible. It was tough sometimes, but we knew it was worth the effort, and after just over a year together, I managed to get a job in London and moved down to Brighton to live with Jamie. Life together is great. Jamie has a (now) 12-year-old son, who is with us every other night of the week and every other weekend, and he has been really great. I met him about a month after Jamie and I met and we got on from the word go, so we have been very lucky.
Today we've gone for a hint of blue and soothing neutral shades for our mischief moodboard. The Emily dress by Lea Ann Belter is a classic beauty, in feather-light silk and lace. It's complimented by the classic, and simple theme. This colour scheme is easy to acheive, and the neutral beige and ivory colour tones really make this a timeless wedding theme, plus it gives the bride her something blue!
"Chic and Sweet Sensation". Caroline Castigliano's Belle gown works a dream in this soft colour scheme wedding. We've used soft pinks and complimented them with light sage/mint green and silver for a delicate yet modern wedding. Keep the look clean and fresh by keeping fairly minamilistic and timeless.
If not wearing or seeing your wedding gown after your wedding day makes you sad, why not have a personalised framed sketch done of your gown, so you can remind yourself each day of just how beautiful it was. If you're interested in having one done for yourself or as a present for a friend, get in contact with us.
We are always trying get creative in the shop and think up new ideas for brides to personalise their gowns. It's how the bride makes her dress her own that really finishes off the 'look'.
Here we have our new dress, Nina by Augusta Jones with a simple bow around the waist. It's amazing how something so simple can really transform a gown. We have also added a hoop under the skirt to give it more volume and make the waist look even smaller! Nina has become a beautiful princess dress, without going too OTT!
Greg and myself met through a mutual friend Carlie. I worked with Carlie in my first job in London after leaving college. Even though we went separate ways through work we stayed friends and I was her bridesmaid at her wedding. Carlie had met Greg through her work and thought we would be a good match. So she took us both on a lunch to see if we liked the look of each other. A few weeks later Greg and myself went on a date to a bar by Tower Bridge and have been together ever since.
Our time together has been a whirlwind. Greg was offered a job in Canada only a few months after we met and told me he wanted me to go with him and would not take it unless I was with him. I knew he was the guy for me and said I would go. So we were both going on the biggest adventure of our lives together. We survived all the stress of moving to a different country and have now been in Canada for 2 years. It was hard to start out with as we did not know anyone so were in each other’s pockets, but in a way that was easy as we love being together. We have had the opportunity to see wonderful new places and discover new things and have done it together.
We're feeling a bit under the weather with the snow and bitter cold temperatures. So We're looking onto spring and putting the gloomy days behind us. We love the peaches and cream delight theme here. Shown with our gorgeous Jesus Peiro 3072 dress. A perfect spring wedding theme!
August 16th 1996, at just after midnight, boy meets girl and they fall in love. We were both very young, I was just 16 and Paul was 19. We met on a night out and danced all night long, barely able to hear each other over the music but who needs words when you are in the moment and every look and action conveys so much more.
We quickly became infatuated and fell in love, in a way that only teenagers know how. It was fast and hopeless, we were driven by teenage impulsivity and emotional intoxication. He seemed like the perfect boy and I just could not get enough of being with him and learning about him, his ways, his traits, deciphering what a look meant, and how important each kiss was.
Sarah grew up in Biggin Hill and Iain in Lincoln. They met through a friend of Sarah’s who she went to university with. He joined the RAF after university and she was invited to attend an RAF summer ball at RAF Benson where she met Iain, a helicopter pilot in the RAF. Originally when they first met, Iain was based in Oxfordshire and Sarah was living in Southampton so there was about a 2 hour commute between them. But they wished the weeks away so that the weekends would come round quickly and they would be able to visit each other! After about a year of this they decided it was time to take the plunge and move in together. They brought a house and ever since then, it has been adventurous and full of fun!
Iain proposed to me on Sunday 4th December 2011. We spent the afternoon putting up and decorating our Christmas tree in our house, we'd had some mulled wine and mince pies and been listening to our favorite Christmas songs. I was about to turn on the TV to watch Strictly Come Dancing (I'm a bit of an avid fan) when Iain said there was one more decoration for me yet, and with that got down on one knee and opened a little black velvet Tiffany's box. I squealed! Blinked back tears and said YES! It’s a beautiful Princess cut diamond solitaire ring which sits on a knife-edge platinum band.

Sarah grew up in Cornwall and Steve in London. They met purely by chance, two days after New Years Day 2011 at a mutual friend's pub. Sarah was living in Los Angeles and was home for Christmas, visiting her friend in Sussex for a few days on her way back to LA. Three months later she was caught in the Japan earthquake; which was a terrible and life changing experience. Sarah came home to the UK for a brief visit to reassure her family that she was ok. Being sure not to take life for granted and to grab any opportunity life gave to her after her terrifying ordeal, Sarah also said yes to her first date with Steve. After two more trips back and forth to LA, they were engaged on Easter Monday 2011 and married 11.11.11. A whirlwind romance!
Our life as a couple has been wonderful - lots of readjustments with me moving back to the UK after 13 years living in Los Angeles plus inheriting a ready made family (Steve has daughters)! We laugh a lot, work hard and revel in the fact we found each other.
We met when I was 18 and Will was 25. I was a matron at a boy's prep school in Bury and Will was captain of the local cricket team where some of the teachers played . We moved in together straight away and bought a house of our own four years later. We make each other laugh everyday and I think that's important! He took me to Nymans gardens on a very warm, sunny day in September and we had a picnic. That’s when he popped the big question!
I had seen the ring in a jewellers in Chichester, but thought it was way out of our budget. I had no idea Will was planning to buy it, until I spoiled it a couple of weeks later and told him that I don't like surprises so he told me. It is a brilliant cut diamond solitaire ring with a tapered baguette diamond on either side.
It was lovely to have met the local people of Henfield last night. The whole town really came together and there were smiling faces to be seen everywhere. The sounds of Christmas music filled the whole high street, complimented by the chiming of children's laughter and the smell of cakes and mulled wine brought a real sense of cheer and warmth!
We were joined by Kayleigh from 'Kaylee's Cakery', who had baked an array of delicious Christmas themed cup-cakes and Natasha from Natasha's Beauty Salon who had a wonderful selection of stocking fillers for the girls!
We are so very pleased to announce, that our window displays have been awarded the the 'Best Theme' award for Henfield's Christmas Competition!
We want to give a big thank you to Amaryllis Events, for all their help and for the use of their props. We couldn't have made it all so beautiful without them. And we would love to give a massive CONGRATULATIONS to our Visual Merchandising team, here at White Mischief! Girls, you did good! We hope you love our windows as much as we do! Let us know what you think!
Kate and Jonny’s relationship has always been wonderful but certainly varied. They've most definitely had their ups and downs - the biggest probably being Kate’s leaving for Australia in 2007. She soon realised her mistake and begged for him back on her return!
Jonny proposed on my doorstep to my flat in Parsons Green. Bless him, he was on both knees as he didn’t know which one was the right one apparently.. I am of course biased but my ring is pretty special. I inherited some diamonds from my Grandmother and always told my Mother, in the unlikely event anyone asks for my hand in marriage, I would like these diamonds to make up the ring. Lo and behold… I got what I wanted.
The Visual Merchandising Team at White Mischief have created an Epic Christmas Window Display for 2012. Following the theme of Swan Lake, with the White Swan and the Black Swan, the girls have assembled a very atmospheric and magical arrangement this year. Our Caroline Castigliano gown Belle poses as the White Swan, whilst our Jenny Packham Tuberose acts as the black swan. The girl's took their ideas from a quote found from a Swan Lake poem which reads 'Her soul will be a swan, until she feels the love of nobleman'. We think the window holds a meaningful depth to it, encompassing the joyous spirit of finding love and freedom. We continued the pink and girly colour scheme for our evening wear department- the fun factor for the party season! A big Well Done to the team for completing another successful window display. But importantly we owe a huge Thank you to Amaryliss Events who have kindly loaned us the props that we used to create our masterpiece.
November 9th 2012 Thousands of brides had the chance to win an opportunity to enjoy a lavish ‘girls day out’ appointment at White Mischief. All they had to do was ‘get social with White Mischief’ during the National Wedding Show. 7 Lucky brides who re-tweeted and liked our post on Facebook were chosen at random. It was a beautifully crisp wintery morning, but the numbingly cold weather was soon subsided by the wafting aromas of calorific cakes and scrummy nibbles. (Perhaps not the best diet for the bride before her big day!) We White Mischief girls were drowsy and sleep deprived from midnight cupcake baking but the sweet sugar high from devouring all the delectable leftover cake mixture spiked our energy levels! Naughty naughty..!
Gingerbread hearts, red velvet cupcakes, vanilla sponge heart loaf cake, and pink smarties adorned the sweetie table. We even had chocolate coated strawberries for the brides who perhaps didn’t want to increase their waist size dramatically before their big day! Although, how any normal woman could resist temptation is beyond me. We naturally inherit a ‘sweet tooth’ as females right?! They say chocolate releases happy hormones and endorphins... you can see why... just look at this palatable table of treats!! It made us happy :)
Azalea by Jenny Packham is now in store and it is exquisite! This beautiful photograph of it shows just how beautiful especially once on a bride. The layers of tulle give it that extra dimension, while the fit highlights curves perfectly. Entirely hand beaded, the abstract flowers give the striking dress a softer feel while the colouring gives a regal aura to the overall look.
Claudia grew up in Pulborough, West Sussex and Chris in Brentwood, Essex and met through work in London. On Claudia’s 30th birthday, Chris took her to Brighton for the day, one of her favourite places. Despite the drizzle they took a stroll along the pier and on the beach. It was there that he dropped to one knee, produced a platinum ring with a 1 carat princess cut solitaire diamond and proposed!
I hunted high and low for my gown, but finally found it at White mischief Bridal. I tried on a few different styles, but everything was either too plain or way to fussy! Until I came across Connie, by Augusta Jones; A strapless, lace A-line gown, with sparkles all over. It flattered my figure perfectly and I felt amazing in it as soon as I put it on!
Brand new dresses have arrived from the Vintage Wedding Dress Company. Each dress has optional extras such as silk or lace sleeves in a variety of lengths, and also sashes for an extra little detail. Sumptously soft silk fabrics to die for!! We are in love!
Emma and Dave both grew up in the South of England and met in 2003, when Emma did work experience at a music company that Dave worked for. They were friends for a year before they had their first date and since then, have hardly been apart for more than a few days. They both have a deep passion for music as well as a similar outlook on life and so it was a match made in heaven really.
Dave proposed to me on my 25th birthday. I had no idea but he had booked a room in a Brighton hotel called Sea Spray called the Venetian room. As we both love Venice and I collect Venetian masks it was perfect. Champagne was waiting for us in the room and Dave had brought a CD of songs we love for the stereo they had. We had ordered a taxi to take us to a restaurant that Dave had booked and as he helped me on with my coat before we left the room he brought a ring box in front of me. He then got down on one knee and proposed. It was a complete surprise and we went to dinner feeling so happy and planning the date already!
Leanne and Greg’s relationship has been full of fun, lots of love and laughs straight from the word go! The two met through work and were friend for a year or so until Leanne left to go traveling for a year. They stayed in touch throughout that time and when Leanne returned, her sister threw her a surprise ‘Welcome Home’ party. Greg went along, and the rest is history. Greg proposed on Christmas day whilst the couple were opening presents in bed. He gave her a card, which read Happy Christmas to My Fiance! And she said ‘yes’ straight away!
My ring is a Princess cut diamond with 2 tear-drop diamonds either side in a platinum setting. Greg chose it himself and I love it!
We are proud to be one of only a few selected stockists in the UK to be holding a comprehensive collection of Lea Ann Belter Bridal designs. Made in Toronto in the finest Silks and French Alencon laces, resulting in a light featherweight feel, they are a dream to wear for any bride. Each gown is entirely reverse–stitched and fully lined in silk. The fabric touching your skin during the most important day of your life is as fine and soft as the fabric your gown is crafted in — you could really wear the gown inside out if you wanted to. Lea Ann also swears by a no-waste policy meaning every single scrap of fabric is used or recycled. We think they're so beautiful!! And we're very excited to be holding them on our shop floor as of today 25th June 2012! Check out the dresses on our Bridal dresses page.
